SPACE starts tomorrow!

Here’s the details on SPACE again…you know, just in case you forgot 😉

You’ll find us at Table W43. What else will you find at Table w43? How about…Issue 1 of Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice!

Victor Waters is a crummy private investigator who also lives a double life as the poorly disguised hero, Justice. His next case is to find a cheating husband…but he may just discover more than he bargained for!

Also at Table W43…Curse of the Demon’s Tooth! And buttons!

Curse of the Demon’s Tooth is a Twisted Tale told from another P.I.’s point of view. Justice may or may not show up. SPOILER ALERT: Justice shows up and dangerous shenanigans unfold.

And buttons! Glorious buttons! Honestly, who doesn’t like buttons?

Nobody. The answer is: nobody.

So come visit us in scenic Columbus, Ohio this weekend, March 25 & 26, and grab some comics (and buttons!), but also some more comics.

See you there!

Airlock — Now in Print and Available at SPACE!

Airlock is the 11″ x 17″ poster comic I’ve been kicking around for way too long. But hey, it’s printed and there’s no turning back 😉  It will debut at SPACE 2017 at table W43

Airlock is the tale of a deep-space scientific mission gone wrong. The long survivor is only left with bad choices. What will his fate be?

Come visit us in Columbus and find out!

Thanks for reading!

Countdown to SPACE

The Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo is next weekend! We will be there! We would like to see you there!

What will we have at our table? Today, we’ll highlight Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 2!

Vic Waters, aka Justice, gets pulled into another twisted case by a pair of no-good, rotten kids. Because “Kids are the Worst”, right? 😉 Can Vic find their missing father and save the day? He may just die trying!

Come grab a copy at SPACE, in beautiful Columbus, Ohio, March 25 & 26!

See you there!

The Wait is Nearly Over!

I meant to post this a week or two ago, but…Issue 2 is in the can and off to the printers! For now, you get to see a pic of my one, lonely mockup:

More pics will come when the comics arrive 🙂  And prepare to be bombarded with information on the upcoming SPACE convention, March 25 & 26! We’ll be in Columbus, slinging comics and taking names (of people who would like to buy more comics).

Thanks for reading!

The Waiting is the Hardest Part

And now, for your viewing pleasure, I would like to present a rare moment of self-restraint from Vic Waters, aka Justice.

Speaking of waiting…the wait is almost up for issue 2! I’ll be staring the last page tomorrow and hopefully have everything wrapped up by next weekend. Huzzah!

The Cosmic Werewolf in the Sky

Our pal Larry is a big fan of Baruka, a being created in the image of his favorite deity, The Cosmic Werewolf in the Sky. You remember Larry, right? Here he is showing off his highly-collectible Cosmic Werewolf flag, only available for purchase at Larry’s Occult Emporium & Gifts:

While there are many images depicting the Cosmic Werewolf in the Sky, this one is my favorite. That’s probably because it’s the only one I’ve drawn so far, but still…there was a lot of thought and effort that went into this little guy. So, here’s a bit about the process behind the creation…

Here’s the sketch I started with.

It’s pretty rough, but I captured what I needed to. It’s circular (for reasons I’ll explain later) and it’s vaguely  Norse-like (Norsish? Norsey?) in style.

I applied some crude Photoshop-ery to take some girth out of his fat head…

…then added a few guides to help define that core shapes a little better.

Next came the inking…

…and then I deleted all of that baloney underneath. Looks better, eh?

And finally, some color.

Here, I made a fancy GIF of the all the steps:

And that’s about it. I wanted to make the image circular so I could have another button to add to the collection. We’re up to four now.

So yeah, it was a lot of work for something that gets about one-and-a-half panels in the comic, but I needed to make it something I could be proud of. Mission accomplished.

Until next time…keep your eyes on the heavens for the grand appearance of the Cosmic Werewolf in the Sky! And thanks for reading!

Put a Fork In It

I don’t know if this piece is finally finished, or if it even will be the cover to Issue 2, but I do know that I’M DONE WITH IT. That’s not to say I’m unhappy with it, but what started as a sketch at SPACE has now taken up weeks of my life :-O  Time to set it free and move on to something else.

Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day! If you have the time, swing by and join the celebration at your local comic shop, but also consider supporting them with a purchase for yourself or that special someone. Because giving away free comics doesn’t keep the lights on 😉

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 2, Page 4

Welcome back! This week, we’re featuring Page 4 of our flagship title Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice! This one’s a real plot-mover…every now and then we need to give ol’ Vic a break from all of the face-punching and alien-shooting so he can indulge in a bit of pleasant conversation. No worries though! Talking just makes Vic thirsty for Justice! And alcohol. Vic is always thirsty for alcohol.

Just look at all the clues we’re dropping for Vic Waters’ origin story! Not to mention some good explainin’ vis-à-vis Mr. Century’s unique skills and his role in Vic’s life.

In other news, we’ve taken the plunge and purchased an exhibitor table at this year’s S.P.A.C.E. (Small Press & Alternative Comics Expo) in Columbus, OH on April 9 & 10, 2016. Our first convention! Well, at least the first behind the table 🙂 Lots more to come…stay tuned!
