Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 12

Hello again! Sorry for the delay, but Thursday just kind of got away from me :-O  But hey, a day late is better than not at all, right?

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 12

Looks like Vic has this situation well in hand 😉

Short and sweet post this week, as I’m hoping to spend this morning (and whatever other time I can rustle up) working on another story. After today, we’re down to the last 4 pages of our first comic! We’re entering the home stretch…please join us for page 13, debuting next week!

(Hopefully on Thursday)

Thanks for reading!

Happy New Year, folks! Let’s get 2015 started off with a BANG! (or maybe, in this case, a KLONK!) with a new page of Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice:

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 11

I’m sure no one is surprised by what Vic found in the case, right? It’s well known that aliens like to travel with a bunch of designer jewelry. No? Or maybe there’s more than meets the eye here…

(Not a Transformers reference.)

I hope everyone is starting their New Year’s Day in a safe and happy place 🙂

Thanks for reading, and catch you next week!

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 10

I don’t know how you top last week’s 2-page spread, but I do know that page 10 generally follows page 9, so…

I just realized there’s a typo in that first panel :-O  Oops. I thought about changing it before posting this, but I’d really like for these posts to be about our progress as comic writers/artists, and that means showing our early work, warts and all. Plus, we already have physical copies printed and I’m all out of WhiteOut. I’ll revise it for the movie adaptation reprint 😉

That third panel absolutely slays me. This is the brilliance of Brent Daniels. I just may have a t-shirt made.

Happy Holidays to all of our readers! There will be no post next week due to Christmas, but I do believe we’ll put up page 11 on the first day of the new year.

Have fun!

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Pages 8 & 9

It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for!

Well, um…actually, it’s probably more like the moment we’ve been waiting to show you 😉

Justice vs. The Two Mean Green, presented in a glorious 2-page spread!

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Pages 8 & 9

Believe it or not, these pages took a lot of time to create. Like…way too much time. More time than I care to admit. Basically, more time than it took to create any other two pages in the book, multiplied by three. Brent is fully within his rights to smack me in the head with the script next time he sees me.

But I do think the payoff was worth it. Plus, I began to work faster (and smarter!) after these pages. So, yay learnin’! And yay comics!

In other news, I backed a Kickstarter created by Josh Blaylock (via Devil’s Due Entertainment) that was successfully funded. Josh was a year or two ahead of me in high school and was also the first person I ever met that published indie comics. I’m looking forward to reading my e-book on “How to Self-Publish Comics: Not Just Create Them”. Hopefully there’s a chapter in there on How Not to Drag Butt When Illustrating Your Comic 😉

Catch you next week with another update. Thanks for reading!

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 7

Welcome back! Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! I enjoyed some family time, ate a little too much, watched a lot of football and read some comics. So…not too different from most days 😉

This week is the premiere of page 7! We learn Bob’s secret and find out why Justice has his hands full with “Two Much Green”.

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 7

Brent gave me lots of leeway when it came to designing the aliens, just so long as they could pass for human with a mask on. I thought it would be funny if the aliens had gigantic heads that they needed to somehow compress to put the masks on. I added the football-shaped markings on their heads as false eyes, so that from a distance their true eyes would appear as nostrils and you’d have the classic alien head shape.

That’s all for now! Tune in next week, when Justice takes on The Two Mean Green! It’s a fight we couldn’t contain in just one page, so it fills an entire two-page spread! Woohoo!

Thanks for reading!

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 6

We’ll just get to the good stuff this week…page 6 looks a little like this:

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 6

Robert Robertson. hehehe. That joke still gets me 🙂

In the script, Brent wrote that Bob was a “Banker type, handsome, great suit, laughing [and] really pleased with himself.” I did my best to bring him to life, but I think I might have subconsciously added “guy I’d like to punch in the face” into the mix. Probably because I know he’s hiding something…but that’s for another update.

And my apologies if you look like Bob.

There won’t be a new page posted next week because, well…Thanksgiving. Hope you enjoy your turkey, football and family, not necessarily in that order. We’ll be back in two weeks with a fresh page!

Thanks,

It’s that time again…time for another page of Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice! We introduced you to Vic Waters two weeks ago, but now it’s time for you to meet the true hero of 1930’s Cincinnati: Justice!

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 5

Ok, so it’s Vic in a hat and a cloak…possibly the worst costume/disguise this side of a pair of spectacles and a spit curl 😉

I’m glad we could work a splash page (or two) into our first comic. There’s even a two-page spread coming soon! The idea was not only to produce our first comic, but challenge ourselves while we were at it. And while it was a lot of work, it was also a lot of fun to make!

See you in 7! And thanks for reading!

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 4

Welcome back, comics fans! It’s Thursday again, and that means another page from our first issue of Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice! Without further ado, here’s page 4:

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 4

Looks like Vic’s on the case! And there’s nothing like a gorgeous dame with deep pockets…

BTW, all of the pages were first sketched out in pencil, then scanned, and finally inked and lettered digitally with Adobe Illustrator. Basically, this means that any page can be reproduced at a much larger size without loss of image quality. So…who wants a poster-sized print of your favorite page? The line forms on the left…

But seriously, if you’re interested, drop us an email.  We can make it happen 😉

That’s it for this installment! Check back soon, and please spread the word!

Thanks,

It’s time to meet Vic Waters! But who is the dame, and why is she in distress? Our story unfolds:

Twisted Tales of Two-Fisted Justice, Issue 1, Page 3

These early pages are fun to look at because it’s been so long since they’ve been completed. It’s almost like seeing them again for the first time :-O

On a side note, we’d like to thank everyone who’s been following along, and especially for the “likes” on our Facebook page. Please consider sharing our page with your friends!

See you next week! And Many, Many Thanks!
